Senior Java Software Engineer

Location: Poland; remote or office work.

What you will do

• Develop back-end web applications, services, business logic, and REST APIs with Java and Spring.
• Design scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions using relational data, Elasticsearch, Kafka, and distributed architectures.
• Integrate front-end components with server-side logic and implement data storage solutions.
• Write unit and integration tests, integrate them into CI/CD pipelines, and debug and validate code changes.
• Configure cloud services, serverless functions, storage accounts, managed Kubernetes, monitoring tools, and application performance monitoring.
• Document technical solutions and troubleshoot data, processes, code, and production performance issues.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience with at least 5 years in software development, including at least 5 years developing Java applications and working with the Spring Framework.
• At least 3 years of experience with Elasticsearch, including indexing, search optimisation, query design, and performance monitoring.
• At least 3 years of experience with Apache Kafka, event streaming, message brokering, topic management, and distributed-system integration.
• Experience with RESTful API design and security, OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, Git workflows, APM tools, OpenTelemetry, Agile delivery, and legacy SVN systems.
• Very good written and spoken English at B2 level or higher is required. A relevant higher-education degree and 10–12 years of total IT experience are required depending on the degree level.

Nice to have

• Experience with PHP, Node.js, Spring Boot, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, CouchDB, or CosmosDB.
• Experience with case management tools, workflow configuration, case lifecycle handling, user support, process optimisation, and competition policy.
