Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, Poland; the posting lists Kraków.

Salary: 340,000–510,000 PLN in total compensation, including base salary, annual performance bonus, and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Design, own, and implement distributed, scalable, secure full-stack cloud services processing petabytes of data weekly.
• Resolve complex technical problems across organizations through architecture, collaboration, and hands-on implementation.
• Provide technical direction across frontend, backend, and data layers.
• Build AI-powered legal data solutions operating at massive scale.
• Set engineering standards for performance, scalability, reliability, and security through reviews, best practices, documentation, and coaching.
• Align technical execution with product strategy, remove technical friction, and mentor senior and lead engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing, building, and operating complex cloud-native distributed systems.
• Technical leadership across multiple teams or domains, including the ability to influence without formal authority.
• Strong background in architecture, security, reliability, and performance at scale.
• Ability to define technical direction, drive cross-team alignment, and translate business goals into technical strategy.
• Strong mentorship and technical communication skills.
• Experience with algorithms, automation, debugging, software development, system design, and technical leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience shaping data platforms or UI standards.
• Experience in global or highly distributed organizations.
• Experience driving organization-wide technical improvements.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
• Experience in regulated or large-scale environments.
