Senior Software Engineer - Backend (Contact) (Java)

Location: Must be based in or near Kraków, Poland; hybrid work with 60% of the week at office locations or local sites and the remainder remotely.

Salary: 26,000–33,000 PLN gross per month under an employment contract (UoP).

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable Java services for high-volume customer data processing.
• Develop cloud-native microservices using Azure Service Bus, PostgreSQL, and Azure services.
• Contribute to the migration from Azure App Services to Kubernetes.
• Improve system reliability, performance, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
• Implement CI/CD practices, automate workflows, and build supporting tools and scripts.
• Mentor engineers, document system designs, and take ownership of projects and technical direction.

Requirements

• Approximately 6+ years of experience delivering Java software.
• Strong Java development skills, including Spring Boot or comparable frameworks.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms and Terraform.
• Experience with system design, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience taking ownership of projects and leading teams from a technical or project perspective.
• Good English communication skills and availability to work in the Kraków hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, LLMs, embeddings, or new database technologies.
