Senior Data Engineer – Data Platform & Analytics

Location: Hybrid in Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto, Portugal

What you will do

• Design and implement Data Lake, Data Warehouse, or Lakehouse architecture.
• Build and maintain ingestion, transformation, and scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across databases, APIs, files, external systems, and event streams.
• Develop analytical data models, dimensional models, fact tables, dimensions, datasets, KPIs, and a centralized metrics layer.
• Build the data layer for dashboards and reporting using Power BI, Apache Superset, or equivalent tools.
• Implement data quality, monitoring, validation, lineage, governance, observability, and documentation practices.
• Collaborate with Product, Technology, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders to support analytics, machine learning, and AI use cases.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, or similar roles.
• Strong experience with SQL, NoSQL, Python, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data modeling for analytics.
• Experience with Data Lake, Data Warehouse, or Lakehouse architectures and cloud platforms.
• Experience integrating data from multiple systems and formats, including batch, near-real-time, and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence and visualization tools such as Power BI, Apache Superset, Metabase, Looker, or Tableau.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, data quality, reliability, observability, and translating business needs into analytical solutions.
