Product Design Intern (Design System)

Location: Berlin, Germany; 12-week, full-time hybrid engagement with office attendance and remote work options. Extended remote work is available for up to 120 days within the EU, UK, and Switzerland, including 30 days outside the EU.

What you will do

• Create, maintain, and document scalable UI components for web and mobile products.
• Audit legacy UI patterns and refine components using user feedback, accessibility standards, and usability best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and design partners on design system integration.
• Produce wireframes, UI specifications, and interactive Figma prototypes.
• Structure and expand Figma component libraries, design token frameworks, and documentation standards.
• Maintain design system assets for long-term scalability and cross-team adoption.

Requirements

• Hold or pursue a degree in Product Design, Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or a related discipline.
• Provide a portfolio demonstrating UX processes, visual design skills, and foundational design system principles.
• Understand UI craftsmanship, interaction logic, component states, user flows, and usability standards.
• Have proficiency in Figma, including components, auto-layout, and variants.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in cross-functional environments.
• Commit to a 12-week, full-time hybrid engagement at the Berlin office.
