Backend Engineer (Java)

Location: Hybrid working model with up to 60% remote per week; work from abroad for up to 30 working days a year. Relocation assistance is available subject to prior agreement.

What you will do

• Build and maintain scalable Java microservices with Spring Boot.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for customer portals and internal tools.
• Own features throughout design, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operation.
• Deploy and troubleshoot services in AWS and Kubernetes using Gradle and CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and collaborative technical decision-making.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to support seamless partner experiences.

Requirements

• Professional experience developing with Java and a good understanding of Spring Boot.
• Knowledge of microservice architectures, REST APIs, and data handling with tools such as Jackson.
• Experience delivering stable features in an agile environment and taking ownership from discovery to delivery.
• Comfort with Gradle, automated testing, and CI/CD workflows.
• Interest in or experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and production operations.
• Strong English communication skills and the ability to collaborate in an international team.
