Tech Lead Java Developer

Location: Hybrid, 2–3 days per week in Lisbon or Porto, Portugal. Candidates must be based in Portugal and hold Portuguese or EU citizenship, or a valid work permit.

What you will do

• Lead Java backend development using Spring and advanced PostgreSQL/SQL.
• Design and support microservices and cloud-based solutions.
• Contribute across technical business analysis, development, and technical leadership responsibilities.
• Implement CI/CD, versioning, unit testing, and Docker-based containerization.
• Work with AWS and IBM Cloud environments.
• Collaborate through Agile methodologies and tools including Jira, Confluence, and ALM.

Requirements

• 8–15 years of experience as a Tech Lead Java Developer.
• Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
• Strong Java and Spring skills with advanced PostgreSQL/SQL experience.
• Experience with CI/CD, microservices, unit testing, versioning, AWS, IBM Cloud, and Docker.
• Fluent English at C1 level.
• Portuguese or EU citizenship, or a valid Portuguese work permit, with availability for hybrid work in Lisbon or Porto.

Nice to have

• Experience with third-party data and data governance or management.
• Previous experience in a BNPP environment.
• French at A2 level.
