Backend Engineer - AI Team - Paradox (AI)

Location: Tel Aviv, Israel; hybrid work with three days in the office and two days at home.

What you will do

• Design and implement high-performance backend services and APIs for core AI products.
• Build scalable, resilient infrastructure that integrates LLM capabilities into production systems.
• Bridge AI research and production software by improving latency, reliability, and observability.
• Design LLM evaluation frameworks for assessing and integrating new models into production flows.
• Drive engineering quality through architecture, code reviews, distributed-systems practices, and product-focused decisions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on backend software development experience with complex distributed systems.
• Strong Python, modern backend technology, and API design skills.
• Production experience developing LLM-based products such as agents or RAG systems.
• Experience with system architecture, AWS or GCP, and CI/CD workflows.
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, automated testing, and Clean Code principles.
• Fluent English and authorization to work in Israel are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with vector databases, LLM observability tools, conversational AI, or dialogue management.
• Familiarity with MLOps and monitoring LLM performance in production.
• Background in data science or data engineering.
