Staff Engineer – Office of the CTO (AI): Building agentic software-development workflows, shared AI infrastructure, automated quality gates, and developer golden paths for Yotpo’s engineering organization with an accent on AI-native tooling, distributed systems, and engineering effectiveness. Focus on designing autonomous development loops, enforcing quality and security through CI/CD, and driving adoption across global R&D teams.

What you will do
- Shape the Software Factory by researching, prototyping, and building agentic workflows, autonomous agents, harnesses, and development tools.
- Define governance, controls, standards, and golden paths for predictable and safe software delivery at scale.
- Build and scale shared infrastructure including an AI gateway, shared memory, context graphs, guardrails, and developer platforms.
- Automate quality through CI/CD gates, evaluations for agent-generated work, telemetry, testing, security, and reliability controls.
- Drive adoption through documentation, workshops, internal advocacy, mentoring, and collaboration across R&D and product teams.
- Set technical standards, review practices, and architectural principles that improve engineering excellence.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including Staff, Principal, or architectural leadership experience.
- Strong architectural depth and experience shaping complex, cross-team technical initiatives.
- Hands-on experience building agentic workflows, autonomous systems, AI-driven development loops, and developer tooling.
- Deep expertise in distributed, composable, and extensible systems, cloud-native patterns, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong backend skills with Java, Node, Python, or Go, plus familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React.
- Fluent English, written and spoken, is required; a Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience is expected.

- Experience in a CTO Office, advanced R&D, or developer-experience-focused platform engineering team.
- Background in data science or data-science-centric projects.
- Technical publications, open-source contributions, or speaking engagements.
- Enterprise SaaS product experience or direct customer engagement.
