Associate Scientist (RNA Therapeutics)

Location: Thousand Oaks, California, United States; primarily laboratory-based and onsite.

What you will do

• Develop technologies for RNA therapeutics and genetic medicines.
• Apply molecular and cellular biology methods to oligonucleotide drug discovery and delivery.
• Perform nucleic acid transfection, protein and RNA isolation, and protein and RNA analysis.
• Develop and implement automated high-throughput RT-qPCR and RNA-seq workflows.
• Conduct mammalian tissue culture, cell-based assays, and primary-cell experiments.
• Design and execute in vivo pharmacology studies, including model implementation, dosing, sample collection, and processing.

Requirements

• Master's degree, or a bachelor's degree with 2 years of related scientific research experience.
• Alternatively, an associate's degree with 4 years of related research experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 6 years of related research experience.
• Hands-on experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques and assays.
• Experience with mammalian tissue culture and cell-based assays; previous primary-cell experience is essential.
• Ability to independently plan, execute, and analyze complex experiments across in vitro and in vivo systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including presenting in team meetings and working in a flexible, cross-functional environment.
