Backend Engineer (Go, Control Plane)

Salary: £128,770–£178,540 GBP per year

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and document core software components for the control plane.
• Develop product features across control-plane services, relay infrastructure, identity integrations, and open-source client code.
• Own services throughout the product lifecycle, from implementation and ideation to strategic decisions.
• Build observability into running services, participate in incident response, and handle customer support escalations.
• Improve system efficiency, scalability, and stability with a security-first approach.
• Collaborate with engineers, UX/UI designers, and product managers in an asynchronous environment.

Requirements

• Experience with distributed systems.
• Professional experience with Go.
• Experience with one or more SQL databases.
• Familiarity with networking concepts such as IP addressing and routing.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with technical teams, and give and process constructive feedback.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with flexibility for a dynamic startup environment.
