Senior Project Manager (Electric Transmission)

Location: Hybrid in San Jose, California, with work from a remote office and an assigned work location within the PG&E Bay Area-Central Coast region based on business needs.

Salary: $153,828–$197,628 per year, depending on locality, qualifications, experience, certifications, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity.

What you will do

• Manage the development and implementation of assigned multi-year electric transmission substation and transmission line projects.
• Determine whether project objectives are achievable and manage significant project risks.
• Guide engineering teams in developing complex risk and alternative analyses, studies, and conceptual designs.
• Oversee and administer EPC contracts and negotiate third-party contracts.
• Develop company-wide project management best practices and present project information to PG&E officers.
• Resolve project conflicts and mentor less experienced project managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 8 years of PG&E experience or 9 years of external experience in project management, project controls, engineering, and/or construction.
• Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Electrical Engineering degree for substation projects or Civil Engineering degree for transmission line projects.
• Knowledge of and experience with electric substations and transmission line projects.
• Fluent use of project management tools, including SAP Financials, SAP Work Management modules, and Microsoft Project Scheduling Software.
