Director Major Projects (Transmission)

Location: Corpus Christi, TX or Tulsa, OK; travel is typically required up to 50%, with potential for extended travel or temporary relocation during critical project phases.

Salary: $188,524–$245,080 annually, plus annual bonus and long-term incentive.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end execution of large, complex high-voltage transmission projects with budgets ranging from $1 billion to $10 billion.
• Direct project safety, integrated schedules, budgets, contingencies, staffing, construction, and overall delivery performance.
• Develop project strategy and executive reporting covering siting, regulatory, procurement, engineering, construction, and financial requirements.
• Establish commercial contracting strategies and negotiate contractor, EPC, engineering, and other project agreements.
• Lead executive governance with joint-venture partners and manage relationships with utilities, RTOs, regulators, landowners, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Manage project risks, change, disputes, regulatory filings, and technical solutions through successful project completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, project management, accounting, finance, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of qualified experience, including work in two or more areas such as major construction projects, project management, portfolio management, commissioning, project controls, power generation, or contract negotiations.
• Progressive responsibility, strong business acumen, effective leadership, and experience managing complex project teams.
• PMP certification and a valid state driver’s license are required.
• Ability to travel as required, typically up to 50%, and to work at construction sites, including walking uneven terrain and climbing ladders.
• Ability to maintain high standards of safety, operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, conflict management, delegation, and decision-making.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in business, engineering, project management, accounting, finance, construction management, or a related field.
• Experience with 345–765 kV transmission projects, underground, HVDC, or submarine work.
• Experience with RTOs such as PJM, MISO, SPP, or ERCOT and state utility commission applications.
• Experience with environmental applications involving USACE, USFWS, or NEPA.
• Executive communication, commercial strategy, risk mitigation, employee development, and process optimization experience.
