Server Administrator 4 (HPC)

Location: Remote within the contiguous United States; travel may be required for business needs.

Salary: $124,400–$150,138 annually; full range $111,531–$174,446 annually.

What you will do

• Design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Linux and Windows systems supporting HPC operations.
• Administer enterprise storage, backup, recovery, network-attached storage, and Fibre Channel SAN environments.
• Resolve complex HPC infrastructure issues across operating systems, networking, hardware, and applications.
• Coordinate server and storage maintenance windows with support personnel.
• Coordinate application deployments with support personnel and project managers.
• Provide remote support and participate in rotational on-call coverage as required.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Computer Science or another technical field, or 16 years of directly related full-time experience.
• At least 12 years of full-time experience in complex IT environments, including enterprise infrastructure architecture, deployment, and support.
• Systems-related certification such as MCSE, VCAP, RHCE, or an equivalent certification.
• Expertise in Linux operating systems and networking in large, high-performance, highly available environments.
• Experience with Microsoft systems, virtualization, enterprise server hardware, networking, backup software, storage, containers, scripting, and technical documentation.
• Eligibility to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Python, REST APIs, Git, Ansible, and automated bare-metal provisioning.
• Experience with virtual desktop infrastructure, replication systems, and highly regulated industries.
