LTE RF Planner- Operations (Private LTE)

Location: Brisbane, Australia; 24-month fixed-term role

What you will do

• Monitor, optimise, and maintain private LTE RAN performance across mission-critical mining operations.
• Develop RF propagation, coverage, frequency, PCI, interference, and capacity plans for open-pit environments.
• Investigate LTE outages and analyse throughput, PRB utilisation, accessibility, retainability, mobility, RSRP, and SINR metrics.
• Optimise Cambium PTP/PTMP backhaul links through path profiling, Fresnel-zone checks, availability modelling, and alignment guidance.
• Provide remote troubleshooting and design guidance to field teams during RF surveys, antenna alignment, cell relocation, and LTE trailer moves.
• Prepare RF designs, coverage heatmaps, network design packs, bills of materials, commissioning documents, acceptance tests, and controlled change records.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of LTE RAN planning, RF engineering, or optimisation experience.
• Experience with private LTE or 5G SA networks in industrial deployments.
• Knowledge of mining technologies including autonomous haulage, fleet management, and dispatch systems.
• Experience with GIS applications such as Global Mapper or ArcGIS and networking concepts including VLANs, routing, backhaul design, and QoS.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and remote troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with TEMS Pocket, TEMS Discovery, Atoll, HTZ, Planet, Mentum, or iBwave.
• Experience with Cambium Networks equipment and tools, including PTP, PTMP, LINKPlanner, and cnMaestro.
• Python or SQL scripting for performance reporting.
• LTE/RAN or Cambium certification and experience with ServiceNow or ITIL processes.
