IT Operations Engineer, Asset Management (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; hybrid attendance at one of the company offices is expected at least 25% of the time. The broader asset program covers offices in Seattle, London, Dublin, and Sydney.

Annual salary: $180,000–$230,000 USD

What you will do

• Develop the global hardware asset management strategy, lifecycle model, data model, processes, and office execution standards.
• Select, implement, and administer the asset management platform and its integrations, partnering with IT Engineering when platform-level work is required.
• Maintain the inventory of record across procurement, receiving, assignment, refresh, collection, recovery, e-waste, and secure disposal.
• Run inventory audits, manage demo, loaner, travel, BPO, laptop, workstation, and corporate mobile fleets, and support purchasing and refresh planning.
• Build collection, shipping, chain-of-custody, e-waste, certified recycling, and secure disposal workflows.
• Automate repetitive operational work using scripts, integrations, connectors, and AI tools.

Requirements

• Experience implementing an asset management and hardware lifecycle program for a multi-office fleet, from spreadsheets or no formal system to a system of record.
• Experience selecting or implementing an asset management platform such as Jira Assets, Snipe-IT, or a similar tool, including defining its data model.
• Experience operating e-waste or secure disposal programs with certified partners and chain-of-custody records.
• Experience managing hardware reseller or vendor relationships and reconciling purchase orders, deliveries, invoices, and inventory.
• Ability to create runbooks, how-to guides, and knowledge base articles and route platform, policy, and budget matters to the appropriate teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting a corporate mobile program or carrier account.
• Basic Bash or Python scripting experience for inventory or reporting automation.
• Experience using AI tools to improve personal or team productivity.
• Hands-on asset management experience for ISO 27001 or SOC 2 audits, including asset-register extracts and disposal evidence.
