Senior RHEL Engineer (Ansible)

TL;DR

Senior RHEL Engineer (Ansible): Managing and maintaining enterprise Linux infrastructure within government environments with an accent on automation, patch compliance, and system availability. Focus on utilizing Red Hat Ansible and Satellite to support production environments hosted on Microsoft Azure.

Location: Onsite in Canberra (ACT) or Victoria, Australia. Must be an Australian Citizen and hold an active AGSVA NV1 Clearance.

What you will do

• Perform operational support for production and non-production servers hosted on Microsoft Azure and Red Hat.
• Manage system availability, performance, and patch compliance using Azure-native tools and automation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related incidents including VM performance, boot failures, and network issues.
• Integrate with monitoring frameworks like Azure Monitor and Dynatrace to ensure platform observability.
• Collaborate with service desk and change management teams to fulfill requests and implement changes.
• Contribute to infrastructure documentation and knowledge base articles to support operational continuity.

Requirements

• Must be an Australian Citizen.
• Must have an active AGSVA NV1 Clearance.
• Extensive knowledge in Red Hat Ansible Automation platform and Satellite.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience managing infrastructure in a Microsoft Azure/RedHat environment.
• Strong understanding of Azure IaaS services including virtual machines, storage, and networking.
• Proficiency in supporting both RHEL and Windows Server-based virtual machines.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure DevOps Engineer.
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
• Experience working in government or highly regulated environments.
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform or ARM templates.
