Senior RHEL Engineer (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)

Location: Onsite in Victoria or the Australian Capital Territory; Australian citizenship and an active AGSVA NV1 Clearance are required.

What you will do

• Provide operational support for production and non-production RHEL and Windows Server virtual machines hosted on Microsoft Azure.
• Manage system availability, performance, patch compliance, tagging, RBAC, NSGs, and HA/DR practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve L2/L3 infrastructure incidents involving VM performance, boot failures, networking, and operating systems.
• Maintain automation using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Satellite, Azure-native tools, scripts, and version control.
• Integrate Azure Monitor and Dynatrace for observability and proactive incident response.
• Support hardening, backup and recovery validation, infrastructure documentation, service requests, and planned changes.

Requirements

• Must be an Australian citizen and hold an active AGSVA NV1 Clearance.
• Extensive knowledge of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and Satellite.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience managing infrastructure in Microsoft Azure and Red Hat environments.
• Proficiency supporting RHEL and Windows Server virtual machines.
• Strong understanding of Azure IaaS, including virtual machines, storage accounts, load balancers, NSGs, and availability sets or zones.
• Experience with Azure patching tools, Azure Monitor, Dynatrace, infrastructure troubleshooting, and ITIL processes.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate or Azure DevOps Engineer certification.
• RHCSA or equivalent Red Hat certification.
• Government or highly regulated environment experience.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform or ARM templates.
