Senior Engineering Manager (Video Streaming)

Location: Remote throughout the United States, or from the office in Manhattan, New York. Hiring is unavailable in Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Oklahoma, and South Carolina.

Salary: $209,000–$235,000 per year, plus a $20,000–$23,000 bonus range and additional incentive, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the Video Enablement team in designing, building, and supporting core video capabilities.
• Own integrations with third-party devices, mobile-first live streaming and capture, ingest, transcoding, storage, and playback.
• Shape and execute the video streaming roadmap with the Director of Video Engineering, product management, and cross-functional teams.
• Build and maintain scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient video infrastructure and APIs in AWS.
• Hire, onboard, mentor, and develop mobile, backend, and infrastructure engineers.
• Contribute as a hands-on technical leader through code reviews, architecture guidance, developer enablement, and production incident response.

Requirements

• Strong experience with video and audio streaming, user-generated content, and live-streaming technologies.
• Experience delivering resilient, scalable video infrastructure using cloud architecture, especially AWS.
• Ability to provide strategic technical leadership and collaborate with engineering, product, infrastructure, and computer vision teams.
• Experience leading and mentoring senior and staff engineers while operating as a player-coach.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative leadership style focused on trust, listening, and influence.
• Must be able to work remotely from the United States; applicants from the listed restricted states cannot be hired.

Nice to have

• Experience coding in Go, Rust, or C#.
• Familiarity with Node, TypeScript, React, Kotlin, or Swift.
