Principal Engineer - Automation

Location: San Luis Potosi, Mexico; onsite role

Company

Develops engineering products and solutions for power, automation, protection, communications, software, hardware, research, mechanical, and testing applications.

What you will do

• Research, lead, and develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems within the assigned focus area.
• Teach, develop, and mentor engineers while supporting the hiring of qualified employees.
• Present technical papers, reports, and application notes at internal and industry meetings and conferences.
• Write patent and copyright applications to protect intellectual property.
• Apply company values, operating principles, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Recognized leadership, advocacy, and expertise within the relevant focus area and industry practices.
• Strong knowledge of products and applications in the relevant focus area.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for developing and mentoring engineers.
• Excellent technical training, speaking, writing, documentation, and customer service skills.
• Ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities, and work cooperatively in a team environment; willingness to travel as needed.

Nice to have

• 15+ years of progressive experience in the relevant focus area.
• Master’s or PhD in an engineering discipline.
• Record of authoring and presenting technical papers.
• US patents related to the company’s mission, including major inventor status.
• Registered Professional Engineer qualification.
