TL;DR
AI Quality Engineer (Healthcare) (AI/Clinical Data): Ensuring the accuracy, consistency, regulatory alignment, and clinical validity of AI-extracted medical data with an accent on quality control, real-world evidence, and source-linked clinical outputs. Focus on defining quality KPIs, analyzing extractor performance drift, validating clinical data exports, and translating scientific findings into client-ready reports.

Location: Remote within the United States. Occasional travel to company offsites or key meetings may be required. Candidates must already have authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Base salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year.

What you will do

  • Lead quality control for clinical extractor outputs, including accuracy, consistency, discrepancy resolution, and performance-drift monitoring.
  • Maintain regulatory alignment across privacy, de-identification, clinical-data, validation, and documentation processes.
  • Prepare client-facing and internal reports that explain validation metrics, extractor capabilities, and limitations.
  • Provide clinical expertise to Data Science on oncology, real-world evidence, medical-text interpretation, normalization, inferred variables, and binning.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Clinical Informatics to validate exports into FHIR bundles, CSV tables, and other downstream formats.
  • Support data governance, dataset integrity, clinical reviews, client demonstrations, quality events, and feasibility analysis.

Requirements

  • Background in computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related life sciences discipline.
  • Strong clinical knowledge across major disease areas, including diagnostic criteria, staging or severity classifications, and standard-of-care treatment patterns.
  • Experience with electronic medical records, Health Information Exchanges, Qualified Health Information Networks, structured clinical data, and real-world data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, validation, provenance, and the limitations of real-world data.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly, manage multiple complex projects, and collaborate remotely.

Nice to have

  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Master's degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, or a life sciences discipline.
  • Experience with SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm, OMOP, Git/GitHub, cloud development tools, AI quality metrics, de-identification, or clinical data governance.
