AI (Python) Developer (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid, on-site 2–3 days per week in Crystal City, Arlington, Virginia, USA

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain AI agents and generative AI applications using Python.
• Build agent workflows with large language models, tools, APIs, MCP services, databases, knowledge sources, and enterprise applications.
• Develop prompt, context, orchestration, state-management, tool-selection, validation, guardrail, and recovery strategies.
• Build and optimize RAG capabilities, including semantic search, retrieval logic, context assembly, grounding, and embeddings-based workflows.
• Create reusable Python libraries, automated tests, AI evaluation methods, and production monitoring for response quality, grounding, latency, and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers, functional experts, and Product Owners to define AI use cases, acceptance criteria, integrations, demonstrations, and production improvements.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active Secret security clearance are required.
• Hybrid attendance is required 2–3 days per week in Crystal City, Arlington, Virginia.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on software development experience, including production-quality Python applications and services.
• Experience developing AI agents, agentic workflows, LLM applications, prompt-engineering solutions, and applications using LLM APIs or SDKs.
• Experience with Python, boto3, botocore, REST APIs, JSON, RAG, semantic search, automated testing, Git, CI/CD, debugging, logging, and modern software-development practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with Amazon Bedrock, LangGraph, LangChain, Strands Agents, vector databases, Oracle AI Vector Search, or MCP services.
• Knowledge of AI application security, prompt injection, tool-use controls, sensitive-data protection, authentication, authorization, and least-privilege access.
• Experience with SQL, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Docker, Kubernetes, OCI, Azure DevOps, Agile/SAFe, or secured Federal and DoD systems.
• Python, AWS, AI/ML, cloud, or related certification.
