Engineering Manager

Location: San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule; in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Working from home on Wednesdays is generally available, while Fridays depend on the work and partner teams.

Base salary: $264,000–$300,000 per year, plus potential equity, incentive pay, and benefits.

What you will do

• Manage, coach, and support the growth and impact of authorization engineers.
• Hire engineers and help the team scale smoothly.
• Guide the team roadmap and connect technical work to business goals.
• Set the team up to own technically challenging and critical projects.
• Partner with Design, Product, infrastructure, and other Asana teams across the product lifecycle.
• Drive reliable user experiences, foundational platform adoption, and rapid product iteration.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience managing a technical team.
• Ability to deep dive into technical issues and designs.
• Experience delivering high-leverage platform investments that improve other teams' effectiveness.
• Ability to partner with Design and Product on major features and continuous product enhancements.
• Technical judgment, empathy, integrity, curiosity, and comfort with ambiguity.
• Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with willingness to apply them to productivity, collaboration, or decision-making.
