Director, Human Resources

Location: Hybrid in Hartford, Connecticut, United States; requires working from the Hartford office at least four days per week.

Salary: USD 130,000–165,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead HR processes and initiatives across hirify.global Local television stations, including staffing, performance management, compensation, succession planning, training, rewards, and organizational effectiveness.
• Create and execute employee relations strategies and interpret HR policies and procedures for employees and managers.
• Partner with business leaders on growth strategies, cost challenges, staffing models, organizational structures, and business initiatives.
• Build employee career paths, identify training and advancement opportunities, and develop a strong talent pipeline.
• Work with Labor Relations on collective bargaining, grievances, union relationships, and workforce issues.
• Coach executives and department leaders while identifying opportunities to improve HR processes and support organizational change.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional HR experience.
• Experience with employee relations, labor relations, performance management, organizational design, compensation, employment and labor laws, and workplace safety.
• Strong business partnership, coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution, communication, project management, and process management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead change, build credibility with leaders and employees, and work effectively across organizational levels.
• Ability to work from the Hartford, Connecticut office at least four days per week under the current hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

• MBA or master’s degree.
• HR certification.
• Experience with union-represented workforces.
• Media or television industry experience.
