Staff Software Engineer (API)

What you will do

• Design, document, implement, and maintain standards and best practices for enterprise APIs.
• Build API gateway capabilities for traceability, monitoring, security, analytics, and enterprise IAM integration.
• Develop scalable enterprise search with natural-language capabilities across multiple resources and datasets.
• Write and maintain versioned APIs using a polyglot architecture and create a developer portal.
• Automate unit, functional, integration, and contract testing for internal and external APIs.
• Improve API development and deployment processes through CI/CD automation, code reviews, and technical guidance.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with cloud-native development and deployment, AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, and S3.
• Experience with .NET, Java, or TypeScript and API gateways such as Apigee or Kong.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, including environment provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, application monitoring, and preferably containerized environments.
• Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, versioned APIs, troubleshooting, and critical thinking.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment and providing technical guidance.
