Senior Software Engineer, Java (Ticketing)

Location: Remote from the United States, limited to CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, NJ, NC, NY, OH, OR, TN, TX, VA, and WA. Hybrid work is available from offices in Austin, Texas, and Tampa, Florida. Chicago city limits are excluded.

Base salary: $140,000–$200,000 per year for roles based in California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey, Washington, or New York.

What you will do

• Build and improve large-scale ITSM ticketing and billing products.
• Develop systems for ticket management, workflow automation, quoting, invoicing, and contract or usage-based billing.
• Integrate billing and financial data with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks and Xero.
• Connect ticket workflows with endpoint management and remote monitoring capabilities.
• Implement scalable software using Java and Kotlin while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Design and ship enterprise-level software operating across millions of endpoints.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of Java software development experience for product applications or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience with highly scalable software systems.
• Experience with object-oriented design, scalable data structures, relational databases, and API best practices.
• Experience developing REST services with frameworks such as Jersey or Spring, as well as client- and server-side systems.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Strong Kotlin expertise.
• Experience with Redis and caching systems.
• Knowledge of C++, Golang, PostgreSQL, AWS, asynchronous application design, and client-server architecture.
