Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js)

Location: Fully remote for candidates based in Germany, the UK, Portugal, the Netherlands, or Spain. If based in the EU, temporary work from abroad is available for up to 180 days per year.

What you will do

• Develop new backend features and enhance the existing codebase.
• Design and maintain server-side applications and database architecture.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to deliver a seamless user experience.
• Review and improve code quality, system efficiency, and maintainability.
• Develop and deploy reusable, testable code and automated tests.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Node.js, plus strong proficiency in TypeScript and Express.
• Practical experience with NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or comparable vocational training.
• Proactive problem-solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Applications must be submitted in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, including S3, ECS, and EC2, as well as Docker and Terraform.
• Previous experience with NestJS.
