Security Systems Administrator (Lenel/Avigilon)

Location: San Jose, California; hybrid schedule with four onsite days per week and one remote day per week

Embedded on ByteDance’s Security Technology team to support enterprise physical security systems and security technology initiatives.

What you will do

• Administer, configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise physical security systems, including Lenel access control and Avigilon CCTV.
• Program security devices and support system expansions, upgrades, deployments, and operational enhancements.
• Monitor system health, improve availability, and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues through root cause analysis, backups, firmware updates, log reviews, and preventive maintenance.
• Manage service requests and break-fix incidents, documenting resolutions and maintaining operational visibility.
• Support testing and commissioning, including pre-test validation, reporting, punch lists, and system acceptance.
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, installers, field technicians, site stakeholders, and global security technology teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience programming, administering, and supporting enterprise physical security systems.
• Hands-on experience administering, configuring, and troubleshooting Lenel Access Control and Avigilon CCTV deployments.
• Experience supporting cameras, access control panels, integrated security devices, service requests, maintenance activities, and deployment projects.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture, IP addressing, DHCP, MAC addresses, VPNs, firewalls, Active Directory, and domains.
• Strong project management, documentation, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work onsite in San Jose four days per week as part of a hybrid schedule.
