What you will do

• Provide proactive customer support by phone, email, in person, and through internal case management systems.
• Handle trouble tickets and remote hands requests from intake through resolution, including customer orders, hardware, software support, and installations.
• Install, test, and manage Ethernet, SONET, dark fiber, copper, coaxial, Cat5/6, and other network cabling and connectors.
• Monitor business-critical infrastructure, building management systems, and security systems; troubleshoot alarms and escalate issues when required.
• Perform security walkthroughs, customer and visitor sign-in administration, escorts, equipment audits, inventory control, and facility cleanliness activities.
• Support vendor maintenance, compliance activities, customer and auditor tours, timesheet tracking, and the market on-call rotation.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; a related college degree is preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience or demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities; previous NOC, SOC, IOC, or data center experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems, including PC and server environments, with basic hardware troubleshooting capability.
• Ability to install and neatly manage network cabling; familiarity with DS1, DS3, Ethernet, fiber circuits, switches, firewalls, and managed storage is beneficial.
• Strong written and verbal communication, dependable judgment, and the ability to work independently, learn quickly, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds are required.
