Financial Controller (Insurance and Money Services)

Location: Reigate or Edinburgh, United Kingdom; hybrid working with 2 days per week onsite

Salary: From £153,849 per year plus annual bonus and benefits

What you will do

• Lead the Financial Control function across Tesco Underwriting and Tesco Personal Finance through senior leaders.
• Set the finance strategy, operating model, priorities, and control framework.
• Own finance governance, accounting policies, delegated authorities, and governance forums.
• Deliver financial reporting and insight for executive leadership, the Board, the Board Audit Committee, regulators, and Tesco Group.
• Oversee statutory accounts, PRA and FCA regulatory returns, tax accounting and returns, auditor relationships, and reporting across legal entities.
• Lead treasury and investment activities, including liquidity management, investment governance, funding strategies, financial risk management, and capital management.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Significant senior finance leadership experience in a regulated financial services organisation, preferably personal lines insurance.
• Experience leading large, multidisciplinary finance teams through senior leaders and managing products, systems, and technical accounting.
• Extensive experience in Financial Control, governance, external reporting, audit, and regulatory reporting.
• Strong knowledge of insurance accounting, including IFRS 17 and UK Solvency II regulatory reporting.
