Assistant Buyer - Light Spirits

Location: Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom; hybrid, with 60% of the week spent at office locations or local sites

What you will do

• Support the Buying Manager with supplier performance, new brand opportunities, and long-term supplier relationships.
• Help create and execute category strategies for Tequila, Shorts, Cocktail, and Low and No Spirits.
• Analyse performance data, customer insight, store and website trends, and food trends to shape ranges.
• Negotiate buy/move/sell plans and support trade, promotions, events, and KPI delivery.
• Support supply chain planning and ensure products reach stores on time.
• Work with technical and development teams to maintain Own Label quality while managing costs.

Requirements

• Previous buying or commercial experience.
• Range and trade planning experience.
• Report preparation and analytical skills.
• Influencing, negotiation, stakeholder management, and supplier management skills.
• Buying, range management, trade planning, and data analysis experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
