Buying Manager - Prepared & Chilled Salads - 12 Months Maternity Cover (Retail)

Location: Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom; hybrid work with 60% of the week at office locations or local sites

What you will do

• Build customer-focused category strategies for prepared and chilled salads to deliver sustainable growth and market out-performance.
• Develop and manage branded and own-brand suppliers while maintaining product quality and customer propositions.
• Lead supplier Buy/Move plans, managing manufacturing, logistics, commodity risk, currency risk, and commercial negotiations.
• Forecast budgets, deliver profit targets, and maintain cost-conscious commercial performance.
• Lead and develop the team, including line management responsibility for Mushrooms.
• Maintain written agreements, follow hirify.global policies and GSCOP requirements, and support a culture of compliance.

Requirements

• Commercial buying experience.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Supplier, stakeholder, and buying management experience.
• Influencing, negotiation, report preparation, and data analysis skills.
• Experience with supplier economics and Microsoft Excel.
• Availability to work in a hybrid setup in Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom.
