Assistant Buyer (Retail)

Location: Hybrid in Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom; 60% of the week is spent at office locations or local sites and the rest remotely.

What you will do

• Support long-term, customer-led category plans for Christmas gifting and spring event ranges.
• Review store and website performance, customer insight, and market trends to shape product requirements and innovation.
• Build and source ranges, negotiate with suppliers, and improve the trading position sustainably.
• Deliver trade, promotional, marketing, and events plans while supporting KPI and footfall targets.
• Coordinate with hirify.global Business Services, Supply Chain, suppliers, and category quality teams to deliver products on time and to required standards.
• Manage commercial income, supplier invoicing issues, artwork, point-of-sale materials, and GHS setup.

Requirements

• Experience as an Assistant Buyer or in a comparable commercial buying role.
• Experience with product development, range planning, supplier management, and trading performance.
• Ability to use customer insight, market trends, and supplier partnerships to develop product ranges.
• Ability to work with Merchandising, Buying, Supply Chain, Business Services, and quality teams.
• Availability for a hybrid working arrangement in Welwyn Garden City, with regular office or local-site attendance.
• Ability to follow hirify.global policies, storage and handover protocols, and complete required training.
