Senior Buyer (Aerospace)

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England, UK. Candidates must be able to work in the UK without restrictions and successfully complete the required level of UK National Security Vetting.

What you will do

• Manage tactical purchasing activities and supplier relationships across an assigned value stream.
• Improve on-time, in-full delivery by monitoring value-stream KPIs, shortages, arrears, and production-plan requirements.
• Review and approve contract reviews for new orders and act as the first escalation point for late orders affecting production.
• Manage supplier returns, quarantine lists, supplier rationalisation, and delivery of cost, quality, and service improvements.
• Identify supply-chain risks, maintain the risk register, and implement mitigating actions.
• Provide training and support to team members within the value stream.

Requirements

• Operational purchasing experience with demonstrated achievements.
• Natural leadership and training skills.
• Strong administrative, organisational, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Technical understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Intermediate Excel skills.
• Ability to work in the UK without restrictions and pass appropriate UK National Security Vetting.
