American Girl New York Retail Department Manager (Exempt)

Location: 75 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, New York; onsite retail role with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: $70,400–$88,000 annually, with base pay determined by work location, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Lead daily department operations to achieve sales, customer service, and operational performance goals.
• Coach, develop, recognize, and manage the performance of retail associates.
• Drive revenue growth by modeling selling behaviors and improving customer engagement.
• Execute merchandising plans, product launches, promotions, and visual merchandising standards.
• Manage staffing, floor coverage, and service execution to maintain a safe and engaging store environment.
• Analyze sales, inventory, and operational data to identify trends and improve business results.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 3–5 years of retail operations experience in a high-volume, premium, fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience leading and developing retail teams.
• Strong leadership, coaching, performance management, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, inventory, and sales performance metrics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and retail operational systems, plus strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
