Transport Team Manager (Logistics)

Location: Booker Fareham site, 2-4 Dewar Cl, Fareham, United Kingdom. Onsite transport operations role working 5 days out of 7 on a rota covering 6:00am to 10:00pm.

What you will do

• Manage transport operations safely, legally, efficiently, and cost-effectively while achieving agreed KPIs and service levels.
• Lead and develop the transport team, promote a positive working culture, and drive operational improvements.
• Manage vehicle breakdowns and minimise disruption to retail operations.
• Analyse tachograph infringement reports and review infringements with drivers.
• Coordinate with warehouse operations to ensure timely loading and departure of vehicles.
• Maintain fleet availability, servicing and MOT schedules, defect management, and compliance with transport legislation.

Requirements

• Previous experience supervising a depot transport operation within the FMCG distribution industry.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation, driver-hours requirements, fleet maintenance, and operator-licence compliance.
• Understanding of multi-temperature warehouse and transport procedures.
• People-management skills, including the ability to develop yourself and others.
• Ability to plan labour and resources against operational requirements, KPIs, and service levels.
• CPC qualification, PC literacy in Excel and Word, and WMS experience.
