Transport Specialist – Carrier Management (Logistics)

Location: On-site in Bedford, UK; flexibility to support operational shifts and peak periods may be required.

What you will do

• Oversee daily B2B and B2C outbound transportation from the Bedford warehouse.
• Plan parcel, pallet, freight, and last-mile collections based on volume, service requirements, capacity, cost, and cut-off times.
• Manage daily communication and performance reviews with carriers, depots, drivers, and control teams.
• Coordinate warehouse-to-carrier handovers, shipment checks, loading, dispatch records, and collection schedules.
• Monitor delays, missed scans, damages, losses, returns, claims, and other transport exceptions, driving corrective actions.
• Lead a small transport operations team, allocate tasks, provide coaching, and maintain SOPs, shift handovers, and escalation procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience in transportation, carrier management, dispatch, or logistics operations, including B2B and B2C outbound shipments.
• Experience working with parcel carriers, pallet networks, freight providers, or last-mile delivery companies.
• Previous experience leading, supervising, or coordinating a small operational team.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse dispatch, shipment handover, carrier collection processes, operational reporting, and exception management.
• Confident use of transportation, warehouse, or carrier-management systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Fluent spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese; eligible to work in the United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Experience in e-commerce, retail, fulfilment, or third-party logistics environments.
• Knowledge of UK parcel, pallet, and freight carrier networks or high-volume last-mile operations.
• Experience with dangerous goods, ADR requirements, transport documentation, or dangerous-goods warehouse operations.
• Experience with transport management systems, warehouse management systems, carrier portals, performance reviews, and corrective action plans.
• Transport Manager CPC or another relevant logistics qualification.
