Team Manager - Transport

Location: Ockendon Regional Service Centre, United Kingdom; on-site role

Salary: £17.64 per hour (approximately £37,000 per year) plus an 11% London weighting allowance.

What you will do

• Manage, train, coach, and motivate LGV and van drivers.
• Organise shift operations and deliver operational efficiency targets.
• Manage driver hours and control tachograph infringements.
• Ensure compliance with statutory road transport legislation, O-licence requirements, health and safety standards, and company procedures.
• Create daily and weekly plans, monitor performance, and achieve operational targets.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement recommendations.

Requirements

• Proven people management experience in a busy transport function.
• Solid knowledge of road transport legislation, O-licence requirements, and driver-hours regulations.
• Ability to manage changing priorities, work under pressure, and make sound operational decisions independently.
• Previous transport management experience and the ability to develop practical solutions.
• Availability for a 4-on, 4-off day shift from 08:00 to 20:00, averaging 40.25 hours per week.
