Senior Associates Scientist - Genotyping (Biotechnology)

What you will do

• Process biopsy samples and perform DNA isolation from embryonic stem cells and rodent biopsies using high-throughput automation.
• Select and implement genotyping methodologies while establishing workflow priorities.
• Operate Hamilton and Beckman liquid-handling platforms for qPCR worklists, master-mix preparation, and complex reaction setup.
• Initiate qPCR runs on a customized cycling platform and perform conventional PCR or Southern blotting when required.
• Collect, organize, and analyze raw data using custom data-analysis tools.
• Report genotyping results through LIMS and maintain sample-management systems and assay inventory.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, or a related biological science.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Interest in rodent genetics and familiarity with scientific rigor and best practices.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively amid ambiguity and change.
• Ability to develop novel approaches and optimize platforms to improve efficiency and data quality.

Nice to have

• Experience in a screening or automation laboratory.
• Knowledge of R, Python, or the Shiny web framework.
