Principal Network Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Bellevue, WA or San Francisco, CA (4 days per week in-office)

Salary: $372,000 – $550,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the multi-year technical strategy for networking software, including tools and services for GPU fabric, backbone, and edge networks.
• Set technical direction and standards for design, build, and operation of large-scale network systems.
• Resolve complex technical ambiguity across network, hardware, platform, and product teams.
• Drive technical work end-to-end, from vision and design to delivery and production operations.
• Serve as a senior technical voice for enterprise customers on mission-critical projects.
• Mentor engineers and participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in cloud computing, systems engineering, and large-scale network infrastructure.
• Proven experience in the design, build, and operation of production-scale Data Center or Cloud networks.
• Expertise in building distributed network systems and Tier 1 software-defined networking services.
• Strong understanding of system inter-dependencies, performance, scalability, and enterprise architecture.
• Experience with cloud provider networking (AWS, GCP, or OCI).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of HPC/AI networking, including RoCEv2, InfiniBand, and GPUDirect RDMA.
• Experience with network characteristics of large distributed training workloads.
• Familiarity with network monitoring, telemetry, and internet protocols.
