Senior Mission Concept Engineer (Space)

Location: Hybrid in Athens, Greece; candidates may also be based in France or Germany. Legal right to work in the selected location is required.

What you will do

• Lead the design of complex missions across Earth observation, telecommunications, and technology demonstration.
• Define mission architectures spanning space, ground, and launch segments.
• Engage institutional and commercial customers to refine requirements and shape technically robust solutions.
• Lead or contribute to proposals, ensuring technical credibility, cost realism, and alignment with customer expectations.
• Support consortium formation, partnership structuring, feasibility assessments, and pre-sales activities.
• Develop tools and models to assess mission performance, risk, cost, and schedule; mentor colleagues and advance mission design capabilities.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of space mission phases and hands-on experience defining and analysing complex missions.
• Experience with areas such as constellation sizing, orbital analysis, payload integration, communications, AOCS, or system trades.
• Specialisation in a mission domain such as embedded software, satellite operations, mission control systems, or flight dynamics.
• Experience leading technical workstreams or proposals in commercial or institutional contexts, including ESA, UKSA, or EC programmes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and storytelling skills, including mission-level trade-off analysis and technical/non-technical stakeholder engagement.
• Legal right to work in Greece, France, Germany, or another selected location is required. CV must be submitted in English.
