Gas T&D; Construction Specialist, Expert

Location: Hybrid role based in Concord, California, with the assigned work location within the PG&E Service Territory. Approximately 75% travel throughout the service territory is required, with occasional overnight stays.

Salary: $102,000–$162,000 annually, with a Bay Area midpoint of $132,000.

What you will do

• Perform field reviews of paving and hardscape restoration work for safety, quality, workmanship, and compliance with company, permit, and agency requirements.
• Validate restoration quantities, field conditions, paving limits, scopes of work, and contractor billing documentation.
• Document field observations, progress, deficiencies, safety concerns, quantity discrepancies, and restoration status.
• Coordinate with construction managers, contractors, field crews, cities, counties, public agencies, and internal stakeholders to resolve field issues.
• Monitor contractor performance and escalate safety, quality, cost, schedule, customer, agency, and closeout concerns.
• Use field data, trends, and lessons learned to reduce rework, improve cycle time, control costs, and strengthen contractor accountability.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 5 years of construction-related experience in underground, gas, or sewer work; 10 years of construction industry experience is desired.
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
• Must be able to travel extensively throughout the PG&E Service Territory, work approximately 75% in the field, work extended hours, and report to headquarters upon request.
• Experience with field inspections, construction drawings, permits, paving scopes, restoration requirements, contractor quantities, or utility-related work is required or desired.
• Knowledge of safe construction practices, asphalt, concrete, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, trench restoration, and hardscape restoration; experience with Salesforce, SAP, and Microsoft Office is desired.
