Director Commissioning - Gas Power Generation

Location: Remote/Traveling; extensive travel required. Corporate location: Avon, Minnesota, United States.

Salary: $178,151–$258,319 per year, based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

What you will do

• Oversee commissioning across multiple gas power generation and heavy industrial projects, including functional performance, system balancing, and operational testing.
• Develop commissioning strategies, standards, detailed plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, project managers, general superintendents, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor compliance with project specifications, industry standards, quality requirements, and regulatory expectations.
• Lead and develop project managers and site teams through coaching, evaluations, mentoring, training, and succession planning.
• Report progress and significant issues to decision-makers and executive leadership.

Requirements

• Four-year degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• Five or more years of directly relevant experience in utility-scale natural gas power generation, heavy industrial construction, or EPC field execution.
• Knowledge of construction engineering, design concepts, electrical construction, power delivery, estimating, industry standards, and regulations.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, conflict management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, and CTC net.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and willingness to travel extensively.

Nice to have

• Experience with reciprocating engine plants, aeroderivative turbines, simple-cycle and combined-cycle gas plants, fuel cell systems, balance-of-plant scopes, and fuel gas systems.
• Experience with midstream oil and gas infrastructure or complex heavy industrial facilities.
• PMP certification.
