Supervisor, Gas Field Operations (Maintenance)

Location: MA-Auburn; travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required as necessary. The role includes outdoor field work, customer premises visits, emergency restoration assignments, shift work, weekends, and rotational on-call coverage.

Annual salary: $121,710.00–$135,230.00, plus potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Directly supervise internal, external, and on-call crews performing gas distribution operations, maintenance, and construction.
• Plan, coordinate, and schedule field workloads, resources, permits, drawings, and work packages.
• Serve as the on-scene supervisor during outages, respond to and classify gas leaks, and follow engineering and gas control procedures.
• Lead safety meetings, monitor workmanship and productivity, and ensure compliance with company standards, regulations, and labor agreements.
• Communicate with customers and community officials regarding utility construction, operations, maintenance, and service delivery.
• Review billing, participate in hiring panels, conduct employee investigations, and help resolve initial grievances.

Requirements

• Five or more years of experience in gas distribution, field service design or installation, customer service, or utility operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of gas distribution system design, operations, maintenance, construction principles, safety standards, and business processes.
• Project, schedule, computerized work and materials management, communication, conflict resolution, and teamwork skills.
• Valid motor vehicle operator license and ability to obtain and maintain required Operator Qualifications.
• Ability to wear SCBA and required PPE, work outdoors in varied and adverse weather conditions, respond to emergencies, and work rotating shifts and on-call assignments.
