Agentic Harness Engineer (AI)

Location: NYC Office, on-site in Manhattan, United States

Salary: $180,000–$235,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Set the roadmap for how engineers and coding agents navigate the codebase, use tools, run tests, review changes, and ship software.
• Build the developer-facing cloud coding layer covering task intake, environment setup, context, tools, permissions, observability, review, and delivery.
• Improve agent output by changing repository structure, interfaces, documentation, instructions, and feedback loops.
• Design agent context, skills, instructions, memory, model selection, evaluation, and orchestration systems.
• Improve CI, local development, testing, debugging, deployment workflows, and other developer productivity bottlenecks.
• Partner with infrastructure and security engineers on sandboxing, credentials, approvals, auditability, and safe agent autonomy.

Requirements

• Substantial hands-on experience with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar coding-agent tools.
• Experience building developer tooling or platforms used by engineers beyond an immediate team.
• Meaningful experience improving CI, testing, repository workflows, or developer productivity in a substantial long-lived codebase.
• Strong software engineering experience building and operating production software; language and framework are flexible.
• Ability to evaluate prompts, context, tools, models, and workflows against representative tasks rather than relying on demos.
• Ability to work on-site at the NYC office.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud or remote development environments, coding-agent control planes, or secure execution sandboxes.
• Experience building or operating agentic code review systems.
• Experience designing agent tools, skills, context systems, memory, orchestration, or model-routing infrastructure.
• Experience using DORA, SPACE, or similar developer productivity frameworks.
• Experience in financial services or another security- and compliance-sensitive environment.
