Lead AI Automation Engineer (Data Annotation Services)

Location: Irving, Texas (Dallas), United States; onsite five days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available, and visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants.

Salary: $128,470–$208,770 per year.

What you will do

• Lead technical execution for a scrum team developing annotation automation and AI-driven data production solutions.
• Design, develop, and deploy automated labeling and captioning for perception and Vision-Language-Action datasets.
• Train, fine-tune, and evaluate models for auto-labeling, auto-captioning, and annotation quality assurance.
• Build pipelines covering automated labeling, human review, quality validation, and dataset publication.
• Integrate hirify.global data systems with external annotation providers and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Drive reliability, scalability, observability, operational excellence, and engineer mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, or a related field.
• Experience leading technical delivery for software or AI engineering teams.
• Production software development experience with Python, distributed systems, APIs, and data processing pipelines.
• Experience training, fine-tuning, or deploying machine learning models.
• 3+ years managing camera and LiDAR datasets for perception or machine learning, including data collection pipelines and ground-truth generation.
• 3+ years in data annotation and quality assurance for autonomous systems or computer vision, plus experience with annotation tools and ML frameworks such as Labelbox, Supervisely, RoboFlow, PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, Weights & Biases, or MLflow.

Nice to have

• Experience with computer vision, robotics, autonomy, Physical AI, multimodal AI, or Vision-Language-Action systems.
• Experience with AI-assisted annotation, auto-labeling, foundation models, vision models, or multimodal models.
• Experience with NVIDIA Cosmos Curator, Cosmos Reason, sensor data, cloud platforms, MLOps, or machine learning deployment pipelines.
• Experience building human-in-the-loop AI workflows and quality automation systems.
