Staff Product Designer (DeFi)

Location: USA (Remote)

Salary: $150,000–$225,000 annual US base salary, plus tokens, equity, benefits, and eligibility for annual equity and token refresh grants.

What you will do

• Set the design vision, principles, and priorities for the DeepBook financial stack in partnership with product, engineering, and business leadership.
• Own end-to-end experiences across spot trading, margin, prediction markets, liquidity workflows, and related first-party applications on Sui.
• Design onboarding, funding, market discovery, order entry, transaction signing, portfolio management, collateral, liquidation risk, settlement, and recovery flows.
• Lead hands-on product discovery through problem framing, prototyping, usability testing, and implementation reviews.
• Build scalable design systems for financial data, charts, tables, order entry, alerts, account states, and risk communication.
• Establish research and quality programs connected to activation, conversion, trading success, retention, support burden, and user trust.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product design experience, including leading, hiring, and developing designers.
• Portfolio demonstrating exceptional individual craft and leadership impact across complex, data-dense products.
• Experience designing trading, investing, fintech, payments, crypto, marketplace, or other high-stakes products.
• Fluency in DeFi and direct experience with swaps, order books, liquidity, routing, slippage, collateral, leverage, liquidation, settlement, smart-contract risk, and transaction signing.
• Strong skills in interaction design, information architecture, visual design, prototyping, research, systems thinking, and design systems.
• Ability to work through changing product, technical, market, security, and legal constraints.

Nice to have

• Experience with exchanges, order books, derivatives, margin products, prediction markets, wallets, aggregators, or institutional trading platforms.
• Experience designing both retail and professional trading experiences.
• Familiarity with Sui, Move, programmable transaction blocks, DeepBook, Slush, or object-based blockchain architectures.
• Experience with legally complex or regulated financial products.
• Background as a founder, design executive, principal designer, trader, DeFi power user, or ecosystem operator.
