Embedded Software Engineer (IoT)

What you will do

• Design and implement firmware for battery-powered and wired IoT devices running on microcontrollers and RTOS environments.
• Own firmware components from architecture and implementation through code review, testing, delivery, and maintenance across product generations.
• Define software interfaces consumed by other teams and services.
• Debug issues across the stack, from hardware bring-up to production defects in the field.
• Maintain CI pipelines, build systems, and automated test infrastructure for embedded hardware.
• Collaborate with hardware, cloud, mobile, and product teams to translate requirements into reliable firmware.

Requirements

• Professional, non-internship software development experience.
• Programming experience with a modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
• Production experience with an RTOS, including task design, inter-task communication, and synchronization primitives.
• Experience implementing low-level drivers and interrupt service routines.
• Experience with embedded testing, including unit testing, integration testing, or CI pipelines targeting embedded hardware.
• Experience owning software components end to end, from design through delivery and maintenance.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• Experience with wireless protocols such as BLE or Wi-Fi, battery-powered products, and bus protocols including SPI, I2C, or UART.
• Experience with Embedded Linux, Yocto, BSP development, or tools such as IAR and Keil.
• Python scripting for build automation or test infrastructure.
• Experience integrating AI or ML capabilities into embedded or IoT products, or developing cloud-connected devices with AWS IoT services.
