Lead Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in the UK, with travel to the South West England area required when needed

What you will do

• Lead technical coordination across multiple software product developments.
• Direct existing product roadmaps and lead new application and embedded software developments.
• Design software solutions across front-end GUIs, middleware, embedded systems, firmware, and simulation technologies.
• Coordinate with UK and European design teams, systems and electrical teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Conduct make-versus-buy studies and advise on hosting platforms ranging from PCs to embedded systems.
• Support field testing and demonstrations with defence partners.

Requirements

• Experience leading complex integration and software development programmes.
• Strong software engineering principles, best practices, and knowledge of civilian, automotive, or defence software standards.
• Knowledge of multi-stage validation and verification, regression simulation, and Hardware-in-the-Loop platforms.
• Understanding of Ethernet, Fieldbus, real-time control, Linux application platforms, embedded systems, and firmware.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills in high-pressure, resource-constrained, multidisciplinary environments.
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance and ability to travel to South West England when required.
