Public Finance IB Analyst or Associate (Fintech)

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona, United States; resident workstyle with less than 25% travel.

Salary: $70,000–$120,000 per year.

What you will do

• Analyze government finances, financial statements, outstanding debt, project revenues, cash flows, and refinancing opportunities.
• Build Excel-based financial models to forecast costs, savings, repayment strategies, and debt profiles, using artificial intelligence tools where applicable.
• Support public financings and private placements by developing financial structures, reviewing legal documents, and preparing securities offering documents.
• Research assigned sectors and geographies, including education, higher education, real estate, transportation, utilities, and public-private partnerships.
• Prepare pitch books, proposals, marketing materials, investor presentations, and credit-rating materials.
• Participate in virtual and in-person meetings with municipal clients, developers, project sponsors, investors, and senior bankers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, mathematics, or a related field.
• 1–4 years of related experience; general experience typically ranges from 13 months to 3 years.
• Knowledge of investment concepts, securities markets and products, quantitative financial analysis, data modeling, and public policy.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and preferably DBC.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under deadlines, including outside normal 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. business hours.

Nice to have

• Experience with municipal finance, public-sector infrastructure, or securities transactions.

Hiring process

• SIE, Series 52, Series 63, and Series 50 licenses must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
