Financial Institutions - Associate / Associate Director (Chicago) (Credit Ratings)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; hybrid schedule with office attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Salary: $95,000–$140,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Analyze financial statements from banks and other financial institutions to develop rating recommendations.
• Prepare committee memos, research reports, and quantitative and qualitative analytical materials.
• Collaborate on comprehensive industry reports.
• Present rating recommendations to rating committees and participate in management, investor, and issuer meetings.
• Monitor a portfolio of financial institutions and assess significant developments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in a financial institution or credit rating agency.
• Experience in credit analysis, credit ratings, or the banking sector.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice to have

• Advanced graduate degree or CFA designation.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and productivity.
